Popular rock band’s former drummer found dead at 44

The former drummer for a popular rock band has died at age 44.
TMZ reports Bob Bryar, who was the longest-tenured drummer for My Chemical Romance, was found dead inside his Tennessee home on Tuesday. A cause of death has not been announced, but foul play is not suspected.
Bryar was last seen alive on Nov. 4, sources told TMZ. Animal control was reportedly called to the home to remove two dogs after his badly decomposed body was discovered.
Bryar was the drummer for My Chemical Romance from 2004 to 2010, performing on the alternative rock/emo/punk group’s iconic “The Black Parade” album. He also co-wrote songs on the 2010 release, “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys,” featuring the hit single “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na).”
Bryar and other MCR members, including singer Gerard Way and guitarist Ray Toro, were injured while filming the music video for “Famous Last Words” in 2006. Bryar suffered third-degree burns and several concerts were canceled as a result of his medical issues.
According to the New York Post, Bryar was previously a sound technician for The Used and replaced original MCR drummer Matt Pelissier while the two bands were on tour in 2004. He worked on other bands’ tours after leaving My Chemical Romance before turning to the real estate industry, according to TMZ.
My Chemical Romance has not commented on Bryar’s death. The band reunited for a tour in 2022, without Bryar, and has a handful of “Long Live the Black Parade” concerts scheduled next year.
